More than half of Gaza’s population now resides in Rafah, a town originally designed for 250,000 inhabitants. The situation there is dire, with abysmal living conditions. Families struggle to survive, lacking basic necessities and facing hunger, disease, and death.

Expressing grave concern, Martin Griffiths, the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator of the United Nations, highlighted the escalating dangers faced by families in Rafah. With the war inching closer, he emphasized the urgent need to ensure their safety and well-being.

As the war encroaches further into Rafah, safety and well-being are paramount concerns. Families who have endured unimaginable hardships in search of safety now face additional risks.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, over 27,500 people have lost their lives in the past four months. The toll is staggering, and further fighting in Rafah threatens even more lives.
