Turkish coast guard rescues 62 irregular migrants off Izmir coast
Turkish Coast Guard has rescued a total of 62 irregular migrants off the coast of Seferihisar and Dikili districts in Izmir province.
According to an announcement from the Coast Guard Command, 21 irregular migrants were rescued off the coast of Seferihisar district after reportedly being pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements.
In a separate incident, off the coast of Dikili district, 41 irregular migrants were rescued from a rubber boat that had drifted due to engine failure.
The Coast Guard's swift response underscores Türkiye's ongoing efforts to address the challenges posed by irregular migration and ensure the safety and well-being of individuals in distress at sea. (ILKHA)
