Altun took to social media to commend the court's move as a significant step towards holding israel accountable for war crimes.

In his statement, Altun hailed the decision as a "landmark exception" amid what he characterized as the silence and complicity of many Western governments in the face of Israel's alleged ethnic cleansing efforts. He expressed hope that the decision would pave the way for accountability and justice for the thousands of innocent Palestinian civilians affected by the conflict.

Altun emphasized the legally binding nature of the ICJ's decision for signatory countries and urged that it serves as a deterrent to further israeli aggression. Under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Altun stated that Türkiye continues to work tirelessly to secure an immediate and permanent ceasefire. He called for the commencement of negotiations to establish a sovereign and independent state of Palestine, asserting that this path is crucial for achieving lasting peace.

The ongoing ICJ case against israel, Altun argued, holds the potential to awaken Western governments to what he deemed Israeli crimes against Palestinians. He called for an end to the exception granted to Israel in terms of international law and norms.

Altun concluded his statement by reiterating the call for an immediate ceasefire, the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid, and negotiations to secure a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders. (ILKHA)
