Iraq and NATO hold talks on ending coalition mission

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa’ Al-Sudani has expressed Iraq’s willingness to collaborate with international coalition countries on armament, training, and equipment.

During a meeting with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg in Davos, Switzerland on Wednesday, Al-Sudani recognized the support of NATO countries in the fight against ISIS and underscored Iraq’s preparedness to engage in armament and training within the framework of bilateral relations with the international coalition.

According to a statement from Al-Sudani’s office, Stoltenberg commended Iraqi efforts in supporting security forces against terrorism and expressed NATO’s keen interest in expanding cooperation across various security domains.

Both parties stressed the importance of agreeing on executive steps through bilateral dialogues to ensure a smooth transition of duties as part of concluding the coalition's mission. (ILKHA)
