The event, held by the Humanity Don't Die Platform and the Ankara-Palestine Solidarity Platform, brought together citizens from different backgrounds under the banner of "Urgent Ceasefire for Gaza".
The rally started at the Tuğba Altınok Mosque in the Çankaya district, where the participants marched to the US Embassy in protest against the relentless violence in Palestine, echoing the urgent call for a ceasefire.
Citizens actively involved in the demonstration signed petitions to be submitted to the International Court of Justice, emphasising the need for international intervention in the face of the ongoing crisis. The US embassy, perceived as a partner in massacre and genocide, became the focal point for the expression of grievances.
Ahmet Dönmez, head of the Disabled Commission of the Confederation of Public Employees' Trade Unions (Memur-Sen), gave a speech on behalf of the Humanity Don't Die Platform and the Ankara Palestine Solidarity Platform. After the speech, the signed petitions were officially handed over to the representative of Ankara Bar Association No. 2.
The event underlined the deep concern and collective demand for urgent action to stop the violence in Gaza and highlighted the importance of international advocacy in addressing the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. Further actions and updates are expected as advocacy efforts continue. (ILKHA)
