Yemenis condemn US and British strikes amidst rising tensions

In an overnight operation, the US and Britain carried out numerous airstrikes on Yemeni targets, escalating the regional conflict triggered by israel's genocide in Gaza.

Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi, a member of the Houthi Supreme Political Council, addressed the crowds, condemning the US strikes as "terrorism" and labeling the United States as "the Devil." The Ansar Allah movement initiated attacks on shipping lanes, launching drones and missiles towards israeli targets in response to zionist forces’ war crimes in Gaza.

The Houthi spokesperson declared their intention to target all ships heading to Israel, warning international shipping companies against using Israeli ports. The Houthis, part of the Iran-aligned "Axis of Resistance," have been targeting Israeli and US interests, holding the US, Israel's closest ally, partly responsible for the crisis and Israel's extensive response.

Al-Houthi emphasized, "Your strikes on our country are terrorism," and questioned whether the US was defending itself or acting as a terrorist entity.

In a further escalation, the Iraqi resistance group Harakat Al-Nujaba, declared that American interests and countries allied with the US would no longer be safe. In the Yemeni capital of Sanaa, protesters symbolically stomped on israeli and American flags.

According to Washington, US and allied forces have faced over 130 attacks in Iraq and Syria since October 17, heightening tensions in the region. The situation remains fluid as protests continue and geopolitical dynamics evolve. (ILKHA)
