Nurettin Teymur, President of the Hope Caravan Foundation’s Batman branch, led a delegation to the Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate (AFAD) to explore the possibilities of forming this vital team.

The delegation, headed by Teymur, was warmly welcomed by AFAD Provincial Director Fevzi Bakır during their visit. The discussions revolved around the essential steps needed to establish an effective search and rescue team, with Teymur presenting a petition outlining the foundation's intentions.

Teymur highlighted the decision to create a search and rescue team, citing the perceived importance and lack of such initiatives observed during their charitable work. The initial steps were taken during this visit to the AFAD Provincial Directorate.

Underlining the critical role of search and rescue teams in disaster response, Teymur said: "After the earthquake on February 6th, we recognized the significance and the deficiency in search and rescue activities. Today, we took our first step towards forming a search and rescue team within the Batman Hope Caravan. In this context, we reached out to the Provincial Directorate of AFAD."

Anticipating swift progress, Teymur mentioned that the search and rescue teams, comprising two groups and 18 individuals, would undergo training soon. He expressed gratitude for the positive reception from AFAD Provincial Director Fevzi Bakır, assuring ongoing efforts by the Hope Caravan Foundation to contribute to humanitarian causes.

The establishment of the search and rescue team aligns with the foundation's commitment to working across various fields to assist humanity, further solidifying its role in community welfare. (ILKHA)
