Turkish coast guard rescues 81 migrants pushed back by Greece

The Turkish Coast Guard rescued 81 irregular migrants on Friday after they were reportedly pushed back to Turkish territorial waters by Greek forces off the coasts of Çanakkale and İzmir provinces.

Following reports of migrants stranded in life rafts off the shores of Çanakkale and İzmir, Coast Guard boats were immediately dispatched to the respective regions.

The operation resulted in the successful retrieval of 81 irregular migrants who had been pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek forces. The migrants were safely brought ashore by the diligent efforts of the Turkish Coast Guard.

After undergoing necessary procedures, the irregular migrants were subsequently transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for further handling.
