Fog disrupts vessel traffic in Türkiye's Dardanelles Strait

Authorities from the Directorate General of Coastal Safety have officially closed the strait to transit ships as a precautionary measure.

Ship captains approaching the strait from both the northern and southern entrances have been alerted via transmitter about the closure, emphasizing the need for caution in light of the challenging visibility conditions.

Officials have assured that once the fog dissipates and normal visibility is restored, the transit of ships through the Dardanelles Strait will resume.
