The primary agenda of the visit includes a private meeting between President Raeisi and his Turkish counterpart, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The leaders will also participate in the 8th Iran-Türkiye Supreme Council of Economic Cooperation, highlighting the importance of economic collaboration between the two nations.
Following their discussions, a press conference is expected where the leaders will share the outcomes of their consultations with the media. The focus of the talks is anticipated to encompass various issues, including the situations in Gaza and Syria, in addition to bilateral ties.
In parallel, two leaders are slated to attend a joint meeting involving businessmen and economic activists from both Iran and Türkiye. Raeisi will further engage with Iranians residing in Türkiye during a dedicated meeting.
Notably, this visit comes after a previously planned trip in late November was postponed due to conflicting schedules of the foreign ministers of Iran and Türkiye. At that time, Türkiye's foreign minister was engaged in New York as part of a "contact group" of Muslim countries discussing the situation in Gaza.
The upcoming discussions between Raeisi and Erdogan hold strategic significance in the context of regional dynamics and ongoing geopolitical developments. The leaders are expected to address a spectrum of issues, strengthening ties between the two neighboring nations. (ILKHA)
