“The genocide committed by the terrorist state of Israel in Gaza is a humiliation for all humanity. How long will there be impunity? How long will there be a free way to murder? Cuba, which will never be among the indifferent, raises its voice for Palestine again and again,” Diaz-Canel said in a statement on X.

Cuba has consistently condemned the violence in Palestine, with the Cuban Parliament expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people. On December 20, the Cuban Congress condemned the killing of thousands of Palestinians, with a significant majority being children and women, as a result of indiscriminate bombardments by Israel since October 7.

The congress attributed the current situation to 75 years of israeli practices involving illegal occupation and colonization, in violation of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. The declaration also criticized the complicity of the United States government and its obstruction of UN Security Council actions, citing the power of veto to protect Israeli actions.

The Israeli aggression has resulted in significant casualties and damage in Gaza, with infrastructure destruction and a large displaced population facing shortages of essential resources.

The situation remains a matter of international concern as diplomatic efforts continue to address the protracted genocide committed by israel. (ILKHA)
