The gathering, held simultaneously in three locations—Bağcılar, Sancaktepe, and Küçükçekmece—served as a platform for profound discussions on Islamic history and values.
The event, designed under the guidance of the foundation, featured a diverse range of activities aimed at fostering a deep understanding of the Conquest of Mecca and its historical significance. The occasion included recitations from the Holy Quran, speeches by eminent speakers, and musical performances by artists affiliated with the Özlem Agency.
Researcher-Writer Mehmet Ali Ortaç, a notable figure in Islamic scholarship, delivered a thought-provoking speech during the event. Ortaç delved into the historical context of Mecca and Medina, emphasizing the challenges faced by the Prophet Muhammad in spreading the message of Islam.
Ortaç highlighted Mecca as a center of torture during the early years of Islam. He shed light on the struggles faced by the Prophet and his followers, who risked persecution for their commitment to the truth. Despite facing immense obstacles, the Prophet continued to invite people to the justice of Islam, gradually gaining followers even in the face of adversity.
"Mecca was a center of torture and Medina was a center of sedition. Because the Jews, the mischief makers of the world, were there. Where there are Jews, there will be mischief and chaos," Ortaç asserted, drawing attention to the historical role of the Jewish population in the city of Medina.
The event aimed to instill a deep appreciation for Islamic values, resilience, and the pursuit of justice. Participants engaged in discussions about the contemporary relevance of the Conquest of Mecca, exploring parallels with current challenges faced by Muslims globally.
"Islam is the religion of peace. Believers whose hearts are dominated by Islam are actually living in the paradise of the world, even if they are in a pitiable state on the surface," Ortaç emphasized, underlining the transformative power of Islamic principles.
In addition to the intellectual discourse, the event featured a slideshow, creating a visually engaging and informative experience for attendees. The event concluded with a prayer led by Mehmet Salih Çevik, fostering a sense of unity and spiritual connection among the participants.
The Prophet’s Lovers Foundation, with its commitment to promoting the teachings of Islam, successfully orchestrated an event that not only commemorated a significant historical milestone but also provided a platform for contemporary reflections on the enduring values of Islam. (ILKHA)
