The announcement was made by the Yemeni army spokesperson, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, who also revealed the martyrdom of several naval forces during their duty in preventing Israeli and Israel-bound vessels from crossing the Red Sea.

According to Saree, the Yemeni navy units, while carrying out routine official duties to secure stability and protect maritime navigation, were attacked by US forces. This attack resulted in the martyrdom of ten navy personnel.

Saree held the United States responsible for the consequences of this act, stating that the US military maneuvers in the Red Sea to protect Israeli vessels would not deter Yemen from fulfilling its religious, moral, and humanitarian duty to support the oppressed in Palestine and Gaza.

Last month, Yemen declared its intention to initiate operations against Israeli and Israeli-affiliated ships in the Red Sea, pledging support for the people in Gaza until the conflict in the region ceases.

The incident marks a significant escalation in Yemen's efforts to oppose israeli influence in the Red Sea, drawing attention to the complex geopolitical dynamics in the region. (ILKHA)
