Türkiye's economic confidence index rises to 96.4 in December

The Economic Confidence Index in Türkiye, which stood at 95.3 in November, experienced a 1.1% increase in December, reaching 96.4, according to a statement from the Turkish Statistical Institute released on Thursday.

Breaking down the components of the index, the Consumer Confidence Index saw a notable increase of 2.6%, reaching 77.4. The Real Sector (Manufacturing Industry) Confidence Index witnessed a marginal decrease of 0.5%, settling at 103.4.

Meanwhile, the Services Confidence Index rose by 1.2%, reaching 112.3, and the Retail Trade Confidence Index recorded a significant increase of 4.5%, reaching 116.8.

In contrast, the Construction Confidence Index experienced a decline of 3.3%, reaching 88.0 in December compared to the previous month.

The positive growth in the overall Economic Confidence Index suggests an optimistic sentiment in various sectors, with consumer and retail trade confidence notably contributing to the increase.

The data provides insights into the economic landscape in Türkiye, reflecting both challenges and areas of growth in different segments of the economy. (ILKHA)
