Prophet’s Lovers Foundation leads Diyarbakır in condemning Gaza atrocities

In the aftermath of Friday prayers, a sea of people gathered in front of the Grand Mosque to voice their support for the "Operation Aqsa Flood," initiated by HAMAS' military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades. The rally aimed not only to condemn the alleged Israeli genocide in Gaza but also to underscore the urgency of addressing the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region.

Addressing the impassioned crowd, Mehmet Ali Zeybek delivered a speech, calling on all Muslims to unite in a collective effort to stand against the atrocities being committed in Gaza. "We cannot remain silent in the face of such injustice. It is our duty as believers to come together and raise our voices against the oppression our Palestinian brothers and sisters are enduring," Zeybek passionately declared.

Following Zeybek's address, Ramazan Tekdemir, the Diyarbakır Provincial President of Memur-Sen, took the stage to read a press statement condemning the reported massacres perpetrated by the israeli occupation forces. Tekdemir, his voice resonating with urgency, stated: "Since October 7, 10,818 Palestinians, including 4,412 children, have been massacred in the Zionist attacks on Gaza. These numbers demand our immediate attention and action."

Tekdemir's speech was not confined to statistics; it was a direct appeal to the international community. "We call on leaders of the world to see the reality of the situation. Innocent lives are being lost every day, and the world cannot stand idly by. We demand concrete steps to end the bloodshed," he declared, his words echoing through the gathered masses.

As Tekdemir continued, he outlined a series of demands directed at both the leaders of Islamic countries and the broader international community. "Hamas is the legitimate political government and representative of Palestine. This fact should be recognized by the international community, and urgent aid corridors must be established to Gaza," he asserted.

The call for a continued boycott of israeli goods was met with fervent support. "Boycott must be more than a slogan; it must be a part of our lives. Every purchase we make has the power to make a statement against oppression," Tekdemir proclaimed, urging the crowd to turn their sentiments into tangible action.

"To those who speak of human rights, women's rights, and children's rights – where are you now? The silence in the face of this oppression is also oppression. We cannot allow the magic words of justice and rights to lose their meaning. It is time to act," he implored, his words resonating with the crowd.

The press statement concluded with an appeal to the conscience of the international community. "The conscience of Muslim peoples has awakened. Today, in many countries, people are flocking to the squares, condemning the Zionist atrocities. Those who talk about human rights, women's rights, children's rights – where are you?
