The meeting, which also included members of the Committee for Raising Assistance for Refugees, focused on expediting aid processes for these individuals, who have been facing challenges due to the political and security situation in Afghanistan.

Hanif thanked the UN offices for providing immediate aid to returnees at border crossings and urged them to increase their assistance. He also condemned the forced deportation of Afghan immigrants from Pakistan, calling it a violation of international migration principles and laws. He emphasized the need for full coordination and support from all UN, domestic, and foreign organizations to effectively address these issues during this critical period.

Hanif stressed that the aid provided should be effective, sustainable, and seasonally appropriate. He said that the Afghan government is committed to facilitating the voluntary and dignified return of its citizens.

Representatives from UNAMA shared information about their activities related to refugee affairs and assured their continued support for vulnerable refugee families. They said that they are working closely with other UN agencies and humanitarian partners to provide life-saving assistance and protection to returnees and internally displaced people. (ILKHA)
