The migrants found themselves in distress due to the engine failure of their rubber boat while attempting to reach Lesbos Island in Greece.

The Coast Guard swiftly responded to the emergency, rescuing the stranded group, predominantly comprising women and children, after their rubber boat experienced engine trouble along the coast of Ayvalık.

Following the rescue operation, the irregular migrants were transported to the Coast Guard Command on Cunda Island.

Subsequently, they were transferred into the care of the Ayvalık District Police Department for further processing.

The rescued migrants were then directed to the Balıkesir Provincial Migration Administration for necessary procedures and support. (ILKHA)
