This move comes as calls to boycott goods associated with the zionist occupation regime, accused of committing atrocities in Gaza, gain momentum.
The decision to boycott was initially championed by the Provincial Chairman of HÜDA PAR in Batman, who urged the public to avoid Israeli products and those from Western countries supporting israel. HAKSIAD's Batman Branch has now followed suit, with a press statement delivered in the presence of association management and affiliated businessmen.
Mehmet Sıdık Çiftçi, the President of the Batman Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen (BESO), also attended the press statement, offering his support for HAKSIAD's boycott decision.
HAKSIAD Batman Branch President Cemal Çetiz read the press statement, condemning the israeli regime for what he termed "genocide" against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Çetiz stated: "Since October 7, the zionist occupation regime has been committing acts that have escalated into what some call genocide against the oppressed Palestinian population in Gaza. These individuals have been living under a prolonged siege and embargo, struggling for their lives in an area with a population of just two million."
He added: "In full view of the world, schools, hospitals, mosques, and residential areas are under intense bombardment, with no consideration for children, women, or the elderly."
Çetiz also pointed out the support for israel's actions by the United States and Western nations and criticized their failure to take a stand against these atrocities.
He went on to say: “We, as HAKSIAD Batman Branch, are taking a stand and refusing to remain neutral in the face of these acts of genocide and cruelty. We express our solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people and Gaza. In this context, we are initiating a boycott against products manufactured by companies supporting the terrorist activities of Israel. We invite all our members and those who stand with the oppressed to participate in this boycott."
HAKSIAD's Batman Branch is committed to supporting the Palestinian people, pledging to deploy all available resources to assist those affected by the acts of violence and genocide. (ILKHA)
