Colombian President denounces Gaza hospital airstrike as "war crime"

Colombian President Gustavo Petro has strongly condemned Israel's airstrike on Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, labeling it a "war crime" and calling for an international investigation into the matter.

In a statement made on X, President Petro expressed his concern over the attack that resulted in the deaths of over 800 people, including medical staff, patients, and refugees.

He emphasized that such actions, particularly the killing of women and children, constitute a war crime that warrants a thorough international inquiry.

Petro further criticized the targeting of the Palestinian civilian population, highlighting their vulnerability in the conflict. He emphasized that these actions lack ethical and moral justification.

He also urged the global community to intervene and work towards reestablishing peace and securing the Palestinian people's right to freedom.

On Tuesday, the zionist occupation regime launched a devastating assault on Gaza's Ahli Baptist Hospital, killing at least 500 Palestinian civilians with majority being children and women.
