President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a staunch supporter of the Palestinian cause, accused Israel of targeting a hospital that provided shelter to women, children, and innocent civilians. He called on the international community to intervene and halt the tragedy unfolding in Gaza.

Ozlem Zengin, a member of Erdogan's ruling AKP party, stated that the national mourning would be declared through a presidential decree.

Zengin emphasized the significance of demonstrating Turkey's strong stance on the issue. Erdogan, in a social media message on Tuesday, condemned the strike, describing it as "the latest example of Israeli attacks devoid of the most basic human values."

Large crowds participated in protests in many Turkish provinces, including Istanbul and Ankara, expressing solidarity with the Palestinians and condemning israeli atrocities.

Amid concerns of reprisal attacks, Israel has issued an advisory for its citizens to leave Türkiye "as soon as possible." (ILKHA)
