Since October 7, these sister NGOs have been on the ground in Herat, addressing the urgent needs of the earthquake-affected population, who continue to endure aftershocks and challenging living conditions in makeshift tents.

Despite the traumatic aftermath of successive earthquakes, the victims also grapple with the adverse impact of severe storms in the region.

The charitable organizations are working tirelessly to assess required materials, offering both in-kind and cash aid to meet the immediate needs of those affected.

In the midst of difficult conditions, the NGOs distribute cash aid directly to the earthquake victims, providing vital assistance for their most pressing needs. The recipients, living amidst the ruins of their homes in makeshift tents, express gratitude for the support.

Recognizing the need for more sustainable solutions, despite the harsh desert climate, the aid organizations are exploring options for more permanent shelters such as containers to provide the affected population with better living conditions.

The humanitarian efforts aim to alleviate the suffering of those impacted by the earthquakes in the Zindejan region. (ILKHA)
