This reflects a 3.1% increase in August compared to the same month the previous year, and a 3.0% increase in the January-August period compared to the same period in the preceding year.
In August, when compared to the same month the previous year, yogurt production saw a notable increase of 10.1%, cheese production from cow's milk rose by 9.1%, and the production of yogurt-based drinks (ayran) grew by 5.5%. However, butter production experienced a decline of 10.3%, and the production of drinking milk decreased by 7.9%.
For the January-August period, cheese production from cow's milk increased by 9.4%, yogurt-based drink production grew by 7.2%, and yogurt production increased by 3.4%. Conversely, butter production declined by 11.7%, and drinking milk production decreased by 2.2% compared to the same period in the previous year.
While the amount of cow's milk collected by dairies was 835,878 tons in the previous month, it decreased by 1.4% to 823,967 tons in August. On the other hand, drinking milk production, which was 102,203 tons in the previous month, saw a significant increase of 9.1%, reaching 111,497 tons in August. (ILKHA)
