Hamada Al-Bayari, an OCHA official in Gaza, urgently called for a humanitarian truce to facilitate relief workers in assessing the dire situation on the ground.
The OCHA's announcement closely follows a statement by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), disclosing that over 220,000 Palestinians have sought refuge in 88 schools across the Gaza Strip.
In an alarming development, UNRWA also reported that vital food aid to half a million people has been abruptly halted, as the agency was compelled to close all 14 of its food distribution centers due to the escalating hostilities.
As the humanitarian crisis deepens in Gaza, international concern grows, with urgent appeals for a ceasefire and coordinated efforts to address the escalating displacement and critical needs of the affected population. (ILKHA)
