Iraqi Defense Minister arrives in Türkiye for official visit

He is leading a high-level military delegation in response to an invitation from his Turkish counterpart, Yaşar Güler.

Al-Abbasi will be received with a military ceremony on Thursday at the Turkish Ministry of Defense building in Ankara.

He will then hold a meeting with Güler to discuss issues of bilateral security and defense, as well as cooperation in defense industries.

The visit comes at a time when Turkey and Iraq are working to strengthen their security cooperation.

It is also expected that the two ministers will discuss the ongoing conflict in Syria and the implications for Iraq.
