The injured were brought to Istanbul Airport by an Iraqi military plane and then transferred to a private hospital in Gaziosmanpaşa by ambulances.
Iraqi Consul General in Istanbul Mohammed Salman said that they preferred Türkiye because of the advanced health sector in the country. He expressed his gratitude to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Health for their support.
The Turkish government has said that it will provide all necessary medical care to the injured Iraqis.
The fire broke out in a wedding hall in Qaraqosh, a Christian town in Mosul, Iraq, on September 26. The fire was caused by fireworks that were set off during the wedding ceremony.
The fire quickly spread through the hall, which was made of highly flammable materials. There were over 1,000 people inside the hall at the time of the fire, and many people were trapped inside.
