Turkish coast guard rescues 149 irregular migrants pushed back by Greek forces

Turkish Coast Guard successfully saved 149 irregular migrants who were forcefully pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek forces off the coast of Ayvalık.

Upon receiving information about the distressed migrants aboard rubber boats and life rafts, dedicated teams from the coast guard swiftly deployed to the region. The rescue operation successfully brought all 149 irregular migrants safely ashore.

It has been reported that these individuals had been pushed back into Turkish waters by Greek authorities, highlighting the ongoing challenges and tensions surrounding migration in the region.

Following their rescue, the irregular migrants were promptly transferred to the Balıkesir Directorate of Migration Management for necessary procedures and assistance.
