The International Assistance Mission (IAM), the organization in question, is now striving for the swift release of its 18 colleagues while facing allegations of "propagating and promoting Christianity."

IAM, which has operated in Afghanistan for 57 years, expressed its concern regarding the situation, stating: "At this time, we have no information about the nature of allegations against our staff and are, therefore, unable to comment or speculate about this ongoing situation."

The provincial governor's spokesman, Abdul Wahid Hamas, confirmed the detention of 21 employees of IAM, including a US national. They are reportedly held on charges related to their alleged activities in promoting Christianity. (ILKHA)
