Erdogan meets Japanese PM Kishida ahead of G-20 summit in India

During their meeting, the leaders engaged in a comprehensive dialogue on the various dimensions of bilateral relations between Türkiye and Japan.

They also took the opportunity to assess current regional and international matters that have relevance for both nations, as reported by Turkey's Communications Directorate.

Diplomatic relations between Turkey and Japan trace back to 1924 when the two nations established formal ties. The establishment of the first Turkish mission in Japan followed in 1925.

Notably, political relations between the two countries were elevated to the status of a strategic partnership in 2013, marking the beginning of a period of rapid development in their bilateral relationship. (ILKHA)
