Turkish security forces arrest 5 PKK members plotting bomb attack in Diyarbakır

Turkish security forces have apprehended five suspected members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), who were allegedly planning a bomb attack in the southeastern city of Diyarbakır.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made the announcement on Friday, underscoring the importance of the operation to ensure public safety.

Taking to the social media platform X, Minister Yerlikaya shared crucial information with the public, stating: “5 terrorists preparing for a bomb attack were apprehended.”

During the searches conducted in the residences of the suspects, identified as R.D, D.D, O.D, F.D, and R.D, it was determined that they were allegedly working as couriers for the PKK.

The search yielded a cache of explosive materials, including PETN and A4 explosive, along with a rocket launcher warhead, a voltmeter, a timer detonation system, time-delayed explosives, and a significant arsenal of weapons.

The arrested suspects are currently in custody and are undergoing thorough questioning by the police. (ILKHA)
