The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) released a statement indicating that response teams were swiftly deployed to the affected area following reports of 12 people being stranded due to heavy rainfall in the vicinity of bungalow hotels in İğneada Sisli Valley.

“Our search and rescue teams successfully rescued six citizens, but sadly, the lifeless bodies of two individuals were recovered. Intensive search and rescue efforts are ongoing to locate the four missing individuals,” AFAD said.

In addition to Kırklareli, AFAD teams from Ankara, Bursa, İstanbul, Sakarya, and Tekirdağ provinces are also involved in the search and rescue efforts.

AFAD also urged citizens to be careful against adverse events such as flash floods, flooding, lightning, storms, flying roofs, and disruptions in transportation.

This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and preparedness in regions prone to natural disasters.

Rescue operations continue with determination as the search for the missing individuals persists. (ILKHA)
