The shooting occurred at approximately 7:44 a.m. in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. Responding officers found seven people who had been shot. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening, and they were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox said that two arrests were made in connection with the shooting, and a collection of firearms was seized. He said that the shooting was not related to the carnival festivities, but rather appeared to be the result of a confrontation between two groups.

The shooting caused the parade to be temporarily halted along Talbot Avenue, but the remainder of the day's scheduled events will proceed as planned.

The Jouvert Parade is an annual event that celebrates Caribbean culture and heritage. It is typically held on the Saturday before Labor Day. The parade features floats, costumes, music, and dancing.

The police are continuing to investigate the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Boston Police Department. (ILKHA)
