Tunisia and UAE discuss strengthening bilateral ties

Tunisian President Kais Saied and UAE Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan met on Friday to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.

The meeting took place at the Carthage Palace in Tunis, where Saied emphasized the strong foundation of the promising bilateral relations and the potential for partnerships between Tunisia and the UAE across various sectors. These sectors include renewable energy, seawater decontamination, health, digital transformation, education, tourism, and infrastructure.

Saied also stressed Tunisia's commitment to bolstering and diversifying its relations with the UAE, stating that his country encourages UAE investments in various domains and will address any obstacles that may hinder such initiatives.

For his part, Sheikh Al Nahyan highlighted the UAE's dedication to supporting Tunisia in multiple areas. He mentioned that the accompanying delegation would collaborate with relevant Tunisian authorities to identify joint projects across various sectors and ensure their swift implementation.

The two sides agreed to continue their discussions and work together to strengthen bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefit of both nations. (ILKHA)
