Mentally disabled man attacks Swedish honorary consulate in Izmir, Türkiye

The attack took place in the Konak district of Izmir around 0945 GMT, outside the honorary consulate.

The wounded woman, who served as a secretary at the diplomatic mission, was reported to be in critical condition, according to local sources.

Following the attack, Turkish authorities apprehended the assailant and initiated an investigation into the matter.

The governor's office confirmed that the assailant was a mentally disabled man and that he had been taken into custody.
