Russia to consider ships heading to Ukrainian ports as potential military cargo carriers

The ministry said that the move was necessary to "prevent the delivery of weapons and military equipment to the Ukrainian armed forces."

The announcement has been met with criticism from the West, with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg calling it a "dangerous and irresponsible" move that could further escalate the conflict in Ukraine.

The United Nations has also expressed concern about the decision, saying that it could "jeopardize" the safe passage of commercial shipping in the Black Sea.
