Erdoğan was welcomed at King Abdulaziz International Airport by Turkish and Saudi officials. He was accompanied by First Lady Emine Erdoğan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, and Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat.
The Turkish president is expected to hold talks with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The two sides are expected to discuss a range of issues, including bilateral relations, regional security, and the economy.
Erdoğan's visit to Saudi Arabia comes after a period of strained relations between the two countries. The two countries have been at odds over a number of issues, including the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018. However, the two countries have recently been working to improve relations. (ILKHA)
