9 feared dead in Nile River boat capsize in Uganda

The incident occurred on Monday evening when a small boat carrying 13 workers from Apac district to Masindi district capsized.

Four of the passengers were rescued and taken to a medical facility in Masindi Port, while the remaining 9 are still missing.

Police are searching for the bodies of the missing passengers.

The cause of the capsize is not yet known, but it is possible that the boat was overloaded or that it hit a rock.

The Ugandan government has expressed its condolences to the families of the victims. (ILKHA)
