Türkiye welcomes successful conclusion of presidential elections in Uzbekistan

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has issued a press release welcoming the successful conclusion of the early presidential elections in Uzbekistan.

The ministry said that the elections were held in a peaceful and calm atmosphere, and that it highly values the stability and welfare of Uzbekistan.

The ministry also said that it wishes the outcome of the elections to be auspicious for the friendly and brotherly Uzbek people.

Türkiye and Uzbekistan have elevated their relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, and the ministry said that it looks forward to further cooperation with Uzbekistan in the future.

Presidential elections in Uzbekistan were held on Sunday, with preliminary results expected to be announced by the Central Election Commission on Monday.

As per electoral regulations, the final results must be officially published within 10 days of the voting date.

There are four candidates vying for the presidency: Ulugbek Inoyatov representing the People's Democratic Party, Shavkat Mirziyoyev from the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Business People - the Liberal Democratic Party, Robakhon Makhmudova from the Social Democratic Party "Adolat," and Abdushukur Khamzaev from the Ecological Party. (ILKHA)
