The summit will take place from July 10-12 and will focus on the ongoing war in Ukraine and the challenges faced by NATO member countries.

The Turkish Communications Directorate said that the summit will provide an opportunity to address plans for bolstering the alliance's defense structure and strengthening efforts to deter various threats, with a particular emphasis on combating terrorism in all its manifestations.

Erdogan is expected to hold bilateral meetings with other heads of state during the summit. He is also expected to discuss Turkey's concerns about Sweden and Finland's NATO membership bids.

The summit comes at a critical time for NATO, as the alliance faces its biggest challenge since the Cold War. The war in Ukraine has shown the importance of NATO's collective defense and has led to a renewed commitment to the alliance by its member countries.

The summit is also expected to discuss the long-term implications of the war in Ukraine, including the need to adapt NATO's defense posture to the new security environment. (ILKHA)
