Afghanistan, UK discuss ways to enhance cooperation

Acting Prime Minister Mawlavi Abdul Kabir and British Chargé d’affaires for Afghanistan, Robert Chatterton Dickson, met in Kabul to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting took place at Arg, the Afghan presidential palace, and was aimed at promoting positive and constructive relations based on mutual respect.

Dickson emphasized Britain's commitment to developing cooperation with the Islamic Emirate, saying that a self-sufficient and prosperous Afghanistan is in the world's interest. He assured the Islamic Emirate of their willingness to work together to address existing issues.

In response, Acting Prime Minister Kabir reiterated the Islamic Emirate's objective of fostering positive and constructive relations with all countries, including the UK, on the basis of mutual respect. He highlighted that under the Islamic Emirate's sovereignty, measures have been taken to prevent corruption and ensure transparency across all sectors.

Acting Prime Minister Kabir also emphasized that female employees are actively fulfilling their duties in various government departments, provided with appropriate working environments. He further stated that the Islamic Emirate supports women's rights within the framework of Sharia law.

The two sides discussed a number of areas where cooperation could be enhanced, including trade, investment, and development. They also agreed to continue regular dialogue to discuss ways to address common challenges.

The meeting was seen as a positive step in the development of relations between Afghanistan and the UK. Both sides expressed their commitment to working together to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in Afghanistan. (ILKHA)
