The meeting is scheduled to take place on the eve of the 500th day since Russia initiated its offensive in Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov informed reporters that they are keen to learn about the outcomes of the talks and consider it important.

He emphasized the value of Moscow's relationship with Ankara and acknowledged Erdogan's efforts in mediating various issues within the Ukrainian conflict.

Peskov did not rule out the possibility of talks between President Vladimir Putin and Erdogan.

Despite Russia's military campaign in Ukraine that began in February, the Turkish leader has maintained positive relations with both Kyiv and Moscow.

Erdogan played a role in facilitating a crucial grain deal last year, which helped resolve the blockade on Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea. (ILKHA)
