In a statement, the Ministry expressed its deep condemnation of the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by a liberal extremist in Sweden and criticized the Swedish authorities for permitting and protecting such actions under the guise of freedom of expression.

The Ministry emphasized the severity of allowing such despicable acts to take place in front of a mosque on one of the holiest days in Islam. It characterized this incident as a clear demonstration of the Swedish authorities' contempt for the noble religion and its nearly two billion followers.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has urged all Muslim states and organizations, particularly the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to take appropriate measures in response to these repugnant acts occurring worldwide. The call for action aims to address and counteract the profound offense caused to Muslims by the desecration of the Holy Quran.

As this incident continues to provoke outrage among the Islamic community, the response from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan underscores the importance of respecting religious beliefs and urges global solidarity in upholding the sanctity of religious texts. (ILKHA)
