Speaking about their relief efforts, Kurtaran emphasized that their team continues to visit the affected regions, evaluating the progress made since the initial response and identifying new needs arising from the situation.

Addressing the situation in Adıyaman, Kurtaran stated: “As Hope Caravan, we are actively conducting visits to the earthquake-affected areas. During our visits to Adıyaman, we observed that numerous severely damaged buildings still lay in ruins, and many earthquake victims were residing in makeshift tents. The hardships persist. We remain hopeful that these difficulties will be completely overcome, enabling our fellow brothers and sisters currently in tent camps to be relocated first to container housing and subsequently to housing units provided by TOKİ (Housing Development Administration of Turkey).”

Expressing the emotional moments witnessed during their visits, Kurtaran said:” Heart-wrenching scenes unfold in the earthquake-stricken region. While significant efforts are being made, the wounds are undeniably deep. Although steps have been taken to initiate the healing process from day one, complete recovery is yet to be achieved. Our visits revealed that families living on the outskirts of the city, in self-arranged tents, continue to face immense hardship due to inconsistent assistance. They expressed their difficulties in accessing essential aid, including medical support. Tearful scenes were witnessed. Hope Caravan has been actively involved in Adıyaman and other affected provinces since the immediate aftermath of the earthquake. We are determined to sustain our support.”

Furthermore, Kurtaran appealed to individuals to entrust their sacrificial animals to Hope Caravan. He urged them to consider donating their animals to be slaughtered in the earthquake-stricken region, ensuring that those affected by the disaster receive the support they urgently need. With the approaching Eid al-Adha, Kurtaran emphasized the significance of this act of compassion and solidarity. Hope Caravan will oversee the proper handling and distribution of the sacrificial animals to those in need.

Following their visits to the earthquake victims, the Hope Caravan team paid their respects at the graves of the citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake. They also visited the resting place of Fahri Yaldız, a martyr from the Mavi Marmara incident, offering prayers in remembrance.

The Hope Caravan initiative continues to extend its assistance, aiming to provide relief and support to the affected communities. (ILKHA)
