In a series of Twitter remarks on Saturday, Hastings highlighted the imminent eviction of two elderly members of the Sub Laban family from their home in Jerusalem's Old City.

The family has resided in the property since 1954. Hastings stressed that this practice of forced eviction, affecting hundreds of Palestinians in East Jerusalem, is in violation of international law and must come to an end.

The zionist occupation authority has set a deadline of June 11 for the Sub Laban family's eviction, making way for Jewish settlers. The situation has prompted concern and condemnation from various quarters, including the European Union (EU).

The EU's representative office recently revealed that approximately 150 Palestinian families in East Jerusalem are currently facing the threat of forced eviction and displacement by zionist authorities.

The EU reiterated its longstanding opposition to the settlement policy of the zionist regime and condemned its practices aimed at displacing Palestinians from their homes.

The international community continues to closely monitor the situation and advocates for the protection of Palestinian rights and the cessation of forced evictions. (ILKHA)
