4.6 magnitude earthquake strikes eastern Türkiye

A 4.6 magnitude earthquake struck the Aziziye district in eastern Türkiye's Erzurum province on Sunday, according to an announcement made by the country's Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency.

The seismic event occurred at approximately 10:41 local time, with the epicenter situated at a latitude of 40.125 degrees north and a longitude of 40.978 degrees east. The earthquake was recorded at a depth of 7.04 kilometers.

Reports indicate that the tremors were felt in neighboring provinces, including Erzincan, Gümüşhane, Ağrı, Bingöl, Muş, and Kars.

Fortunately, there have been no immediate reports of casualties or damages resulting from the earthquake.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and provide any necessary assistance to affected areas.
