With political expectations at their peak, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has summoned the existing cabinet ministers for a final meeting, scheduled to take place today at 15:30.

Following President Erdoğan's successful re-election in the second round of voting, discussions have shifted towards the composition of the upcoming cabinet. Against a backdrop of intensified political tensions, President Erdoğan aims to gather the current ministers for their last session prior to the transition to the new government.

In a related development, AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik addressed the media following a meeting of the Supreme Election Council (YSK), shedding light on the timeline for the cabinet announcement. In response to inquiries about the anticipated revelation, Çelik stated: “The final results have been released by the YSK. Accordingly, the President will be sworn in three days from now. However, the Presidency has not yet officially announced the final results. Following that announcement, the new cabinet will be unveiled during a ceremonial event.”

When probed about the potential inclusion of former Economy Minister Mehmet Şimşek in the new cabinet, spokesperson Çelik diplomatically replied: “The decision rests with our President.”

As Türkiye eagerly awaits the formal unveiling of the new cabinet, these recent developments mark a significant transition in the country's political landscape. The final meeting of the current cabinet symbolizes the conclusion of their tenure, setting the stage for the formation of a fresh government that will shape Türkiye's policies and guide its trajectory in the forthcoming period.
