Afghanistan’s Interior Minister and Chinese Ambassador discuss bilateral ties in Kabul

The Acting Interior Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, held a meeting with Mr. Wang Yu, the Chinese ambassador to Afghanistan.

During the meeting, they addressed various matters of mutual interest, including the tripartite meeting in Islamabad, and emphasized the importance of fostering ties across different sectors, according to a statement by the Ministry.

Ambassador Yu expressed China's support for Afghanistan, emphasizing that the development of nations can only occur in an environment of freedom and independence.

He made it clear that China does not endorse policies involving sanctions, pressure, or interference in other countries.

Haqqani commended China's realistic stance and stressed the significance of justice in international interactions. He asserted that an atmosphere of trust cannot be established without adhering to moral principles.

“Engaging in ill politics with malicious intent towards others is not acceptable. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan upholds the values of goodwill, interaction, and understanding, and expects the same from others,” he said.

In conclusion, both parties evaluated the positive outcomes of the tripartite meeting in Islamabad and underscored the need for further development of relations in various sectors, as conveyed by the Ministry. (ILKHA)
