Türkiye’s employment index increased by 7% annually

Employment index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 7% in the first quarter of 2023 compared with the same quarter of the previous year, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Tuesday.

When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 4.2%, construction sector increased by 16.7% and trade-services sector increased by 7.1%.

Hours worked index increased by 5.9% annually

Hours worked index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 5.9% in the first quarter of 2023 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 3.4%, construction sector increased by 15.1% and trade-services sector increased by 5.9%.

Gross wages-salaries index increased by 119.4% annually

Gross wages-salaries index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 119.4% in the first quarter of 2023 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 114.4%, construction sector increased by 136.6% and trade-services sector increased by 120.9%.

Employment index increased by 1.2% quarterly

Employment index increased by 1.2% in the first quarter of 2023 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 0.3%, construction sector increased by 5.5% and trade-services sector increased by 1%.

Hours worked index increased by 0.9% quarterly

Hours worked index increased by 0.9% in the first quarter of 2023 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector remained same, construction sector increased by 5% and trade-services sector increased by 0.6%.

Gross wages-salaries index increased by 23.4% quarterly

Gross wages-salaries index increased by 23.4% in the first quarter of 2023 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 21.8%, construction sector increased by 25.9% and trade-services sector increased by 24.2%.

Hourly labor cost index increased by 125.2% annually

Hourly labor cost index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 125.2% in the first quarter of 2023 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 136.4%, construction sector increased by 111.9% and trade-services sector increased by 120.5%.

Hourly earnings index increased by 107.1% annually

Hourly earnings index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 107.1% in the first quarter of 2023 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 107.4%, construction sector increased by 105.6% and trade-services sector increased by 108.5%.

Hourly labor cost excluding earnings index increased by 227% annually

Hourly labor cost excluding earnings index including industry, construction, trade and services sectors increased by 227% in the first quarter of 2023 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 302.3%, construction sector increased by 143% and trade-services sector increased by 188.8%.

Hourly labor cost index increased by 29.1% in the first quarter of 2023 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 31.8%, construction sector increased by 22.4% and trade-services sector increased by 28.5%.

Hourly earnings index increased by 22.3% in the first quarter of 2023 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 21.7%, construction sector increased by 19.9% and trade-services sector increased by 23.4%.

Hourly labor cost excluding earnings index increased by 64.7% quarterly

Hourly labor cost excluding earnings index increased by 64.7% in the first quarter of 2023 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 81.8%, construction sector increased by 34.3% and trade-services sector increased by 56.7%. (ILKHA)
