Turkish non-domestic producer inflation shows annual increase of 40.10%

Non-Domestic Producer Price Index (ND-PPI) increased by 40.10% annually, by 2.43% monthly, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Monday.

ND-PPI (2010=100) increased by 2.43% monthly, by 8.74% on December of the previous year, by 40.10% on same month of the previous year and by 73.63% on the twelve months moving averages basis in April 2023.

Manufacturing increased by 40.21% annually

ND-PPI in two main sectors of industry increased by 34.14% for mining and stone quarrying, by 40.21% for manufacturing compared with the previous year.

The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 38.34% for intermediate goods, by 44.23% for durable consumer goods, by 40.77% for non-durable consumer goods, by 14.70% for energy, by 44.90% for capital goods, annually.

Manufacturing increased by 2.43% monthly

ND-PPI in two main sectors of industry increased by 2.20% for mining and stone quarrying, by 2.43% for manufacturing compared with the previous month.

The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 2.04% for intermediate goods, by 2.15% for durable consumer goods, by 2.48% for non-durable consumer goods, by 0.11% for energy, by 3.84% for capital goods, monthly.

Compared to general ND-PPI, lower annual change observed in 9 subdivisions while 16 subdivisions were higher

The lowest rates of annual increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were the indices for coke and refined petroleum products by 14.70%, for metal ores by 17.72%, for basic metals by 28.20%.

On the other hand, the highest rates of annual increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were indices for beverages by 64.15%, for other non-metallic mineral products by 55.80%, for machinery and equipment n.e.c. by 53.24%.

Compared to general ND-PPI, lower monthly change observed in 13 subdivisions while 12 subdivisions were higher

The highest rates of monthly decrease in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were the indices for printing and recording services by 0.74%, for beverages by 0.72%, for computer, electronic and optical products by 0.05%.

On the other hand, the highest rates of monthly increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were indices for other manufactured goods by 4.14%, for motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers by 4.11%, for machinery and equipment n.e.c. by 3.89%.
