Turkish citizens have the opportunity to cast their votes at 156 missions and checkpoints located in 73 countries. A total of 3,461 ballot boxes have been set up abroad.
According to the Supreme Election Council of Turkey, a total of 452,257 Turkish citizens have already voted at foreign representations, while 19,477 people have cast their votes at checkpoints.
Voting at Turkish foreign representations will continue until May 24, while at border points, land checkpoints, airports, and sea harbors of the republic, voting will be open until 17:00 on May 28.
The presidential election in Türkiye resulted in a runoff vote as President Tayyip Erdogan led over his opposition rival Kemal Kilicdaroglu in the initial election held on May 14.
Since neither Erdogan nor Kilicdaroglu surpassed the required 50% threshold to avoid a second round, the runoff will take place on May 28. (ILKHA)
