Chinese investors express interest in Afghanistan's mines, particularly oil and gas

The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of the Islamic Emirate announced on Sunday that several Chinese investors expressed their interest in investing in Afghanistan's mines, particularly in the oil and gas sector.

During a meeting with Acting Minister Shahabuddin Delawar, the representatives of the Chinese companies highlighted the investment opportunities available in Afghanistan and mentioned that the power transition has created a favorable environment for investment, according to a statement by the ministry.

They expressed readiness to invest in various sectors within the country.

Acting Minister Shahabuddin Delawar welcomed the interest of foreign companies, specifically Chinese investors, in Afghanistan's mining sector.

He stated that Afghanistan possesses abundant natural resources and plans to announce mining extraction processes for certain mines.

The statement also mentioned that foreign investors interested in Afghanistan's mines can participate in the tendering process.

Since the occupation ended and the Islamic Emirate was re-established, Afghanistan has witnessed a surge in foreign investment interest, with numerous domestic and international companies showing willingness to invest approximately 10 billion U.S. dollars in various sectors within the country.
